Core Beliefs & Values

Our Core Beliefs & Values

At Chapel Place, our core beliefs and values shape not just what we believe, but how we live, serve, and relate to one another. They guide our identity as a church, shaping our worship, teaching, and mission. These values center on the transformative power of the gospel and our calling to embody Christ’s love in the world. Together, they define how we reflect God’s truth, hope, and love in everything we do.

1. God and His Good News

God and His Good News—the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe the gospel transforms every part of life, revealing both our need for forgiveness and God’s overwhelming grace. It calls us to see ourselves and others as image-bearers of God, worthy of love and dignity. This Good News is the foundation of our faith, giving us hope, purpose, and a mission to share Christ’s love with the world. Everything flows from this life-changing message.

(Romans 1:16, John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17)

2. God’s Word

We hold to the belief that God’s Word—the Bible—is our foundation for truth and guidance. As the authoritative and inspired Word of God, it speaks into every area of life. Through our teaching and preaching, we aim to bring Scripture to life in ways that are practical, encouraging everyone to explore, question, and apply its truths. We believe that knowing and living out God’s Word leads to transformation.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 119:105)

3. The Church

We view the Church as the body of Christ, designed by God to be a place of healing, hope, and transformation. The church is not just a building but a living community where we encounter Christ through His Word, worship, relationships, and service. We are committed to building an environment where people of all generations and backgrounds can grow spiritually and experience God’s presence together. Our church is led by a group of qualified men, called Pastors and Elders.

(Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Acts 2:42; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; 1 Peter 5:1-4)

4. Missions & Outreach

We believe we are called to be active participants in God’s mission to restore the world through Missions & Outreach. As followers of Jesus, we are sent to share His love, serve those in need, and work toward justice and reconciliation. This commitment moves us beyond our walls and into our neighborhoods, cities, and the world, proclaiming the gospel in both word and action.

(Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Isaiah 61:1)

5. Community

We value authentic Community, where relationships reflect the love and unity of Christ. In community, we support, encourage, and challenge each other as we grow in faith. We believe life is meant to be shared, and in doing so, we reveal God’s love and grace to one another, nurturing a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

(Hebrews 10:24-25, Galatians 6:2, Acts 2:46)

6. Worship

We prioritize reverent and heartfelt Worship as an expression of our love for God and gratitude for His grace. Worship allows us to celebrate God’s greatness and draw closer to Him. Through music, prayer, and Scripture, we seek to honor God with everything we are, offering ourselves as living sacrifices in response to His goodness.

(John 4:24, Psalm 95:6, Romans 12:1)

7. Prayer

We believe in the power of Prayer to transform lives, deepen relationships with God, and align our hearts with His will. Prayer is essential to both personal and communal growth. Through prayer, we seek God’s guidance, wisdom, and strength, trusting that He hears and responds to our needs.

(Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Matthew 6:9-13)

These seven core beliefs and values define who we are as a church and how we live out our faith, leading us to embody God’s truth, hope, and love in every aspect of life.
